Use dynamic electricity tariffs for heat with the my-PV DTO and HEA•THOR
Using low-cost electricity prices from the exchange market for heating is no longer a vision of the future! From now on, not only renewable electricity from a PV system but also low-cost grid electricity can be used for heat generation with my-PV.
With a dynamic electricity tariff and the new feature of the my-PV Cloud – the my-PV DTO (Dynamic Tariff Optimizer) – households can benefit from renewable and cost-efficient energy. In combination with the new IoT heating element HEA•THOR or another IoT-enabled my-PV device, renewable electricity can be used in a price-optimized manner for water heating and space heating.
Using dynamic electricity tariffs for heat
The my-PV DTO optimizes the use of dynamic electricity tariffs specifically for water and space heating.
PV system owners can use the my-PV DTO to benefit from low-cost grid electricity for heating, even in bad weather or at night when their PV system does not generate enough power. The my-PV DTO analyzes individual user habits as well as technical parameters such as storage volume and temperature to determine the optimal time for heating based on current stock market electricity prices. The feature automatically adjusts heat generation and intelligently incorporates PV surplus into the daily forecast.
This allows water heating and space heating costs to be efficiently and renewably reduced, even during periods of low PV output.
The my-PV DTO is compatible with all IoT-enabled my-PV devices: AC ELWA 2, AC•THOR, AC•THOR 9s, and SOL•THOR. Setup is simple via the my-PV Cloud, where all operational data can be accessed at any time.
For users, this means maximum convenience – there is no need to constantly monitor electricity prices. The my-PV DTO fully automates heating and always uses the most cost-effective time slots.

Benefit from renewable energy even without a PV System
Households without their own PV system can also benefit from price-optimized renewable energy by combining the my-PV DTO with the new IoT heating element HEA•THOR.
The my-PV DTO can be easily activated in the my-PV Cloud and automatically controls HEA•THOR via LAN or WLAN to take advantage of the lowest tariffs for heating. In addition to control via the my-PV DTO, HEA•THOR can also be operated via the my-PV Cloud API or Modbus TCP / RTU.
The network-enabled heating element is available in 3.5 kW and 9 kW variants and can be integrated into both hot water and buffer storage tanks.
Connection to the my-PV Cloud is established via LAN/WLAN. HEA•THOR offers communication options including Ethernet RJ45, WLAN, and RS485.
Thanks to the integrated temperature display, operation is particularly convenient—the current water temperature can be read and adjusted directly on the device, while all operational data is accessible at any time in the my-PV Cloud.

When will HEA•THOR be available?
HEA•THOR is now available for order and can be purchased through our wholesalers and specialist retailers. Delivery will begin from Q3 2025, depending on order intake.
The my-PV DTO can already be activated in the my-PV Cloud and used with existing photovoltaic heating solutions.
my-PV recommends the following end-user prices (excluding VAT) for the IoT heating element: €310 for the 3.5 kW version and €410 for the 9 kW version.
