sonnen compatible with AC ELWA 2 from my-PV
Our AC ELWA 2 is now compatible with the German pioneer in connected energy solutions, sonnen. We are delighted to welcome sonnen as another renowned partner.
sonnen is a trailblazer in connected energy solutions, including energy storage, smart e-mobility integrations, and innovative energy tariffs. Its unique sonnenVPP technology connects customers into virtual power plants, integrating them profitably into the energy market. At the heart of this intelligent system is the sonnenBatterie – now also compatible with my-PV solutions.
Since December 2024, sonnen energy storage systems from generation eco 8 onward are compatible with the AC ELWA 2, the photovoltaic heating element from my-PV. The linearly controlled PV heating element optimally utilizes self-generated solar energy, directing surplus solar electricity to heat production. This increases self-consumption, reduces the load on the public grid, and minimizes operating costs for heating and hot water production.
Communication between the AC ELWA 2 and the sonnenBatterie is handled via the sonnenBatterie API. Technical details can be found in this guide.
